My name is Kathy, hense the name of our site. I have been sewing and making quilts for a long time. Some times I hate to stop and think how long, because then I feel OLD. For several years, I made quilts in my "spare" time as a teacher of Special Education. What a very rewarding career I had.
When my husband retired we decided to move from the city and "retire" to our lake home in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks. Truman Lake and The Lake of the Ozarks surrounds us on all sides. What a beautiful and peaceful area we live. Well, most of the time. Obviously, this is a lake resort area. Summers and holiday weekends can get a little hectic. But, most of the time we really enjoy our quiet little one stop light town! !
Back to the quilts. I love to sew and make quilts. This business started as a hobby in my spare time with a baby quilt and matching diaper bag I made for my daughter's friend, Amy. Both of them thought I could make them and sell them, well on eBay. I did for a while and I was fairly successful. I made a denim quilt with "star" squares and used different homespuns and plaids. My quilt business took off from there. A photo of both quilts is on this page. I refer to the denim quilt as my signature quilt as I sell this design the most. The stars, or sometimes referred to as pinwheels, are something I just decided to do with this quilt. Then, I listed it on Ebay and it sold within the hour. I have not stopped making quilts since.
I truly enjoy making these quilts. Most rewarding are the memory or photo quilts. There is always a touching story behind each photo or each piece of clothing. Some stories are very, very sad while others are very humorous!
Well, that is about it. My quilts are always one of a kind and I NEVER duplicate any quilt. So, rest assured that your quilt is unique and will be an heirloom to last for years and years. Please remember, my work is 100% quaranteed to be without flaws or other sewing errors.
